The bearcats traveled down to Louisville to visit Nicky and happened to stumble upon Live in Lou, one of the biggest cross country meets in the Midwest. Due to the shear scale of the meet, entries where restricted to 10 for the men and 10 for the women. The men’s 8k lead off the day with Logan Feeney holding on though the first 2.1k at a blistering 4:58/mile pace to finish 95th overall finishing in 27:10.5 after coming back from being sick for a week. Josh Rossman (28:50.2) and Bobby Fechtel (28:43.7) finished off the sub 30 minute for the Men. The men’s team ended up 40th out of 45 teams.
The lady bearcats came out for a strong showing in the 5k lead by returning veteran Lauren Kemper. After taking a couple year break from club to run for the UC varsity team, Lauren opened with a 19:51 to take 37th in a field of over 350 runners. Following up Lauren was Peach Widenhouse (20:53), Elle Seeger (21:46.4), and Rebecca Mohr (21:53.4). The women’s team ended up placing 25th out of 40 teams.
