NIRCA Cross Country Nationals 2017 once again did not disappoint. Cincinnati made the 7-8 hour drive out to Pennsylvania for a long weekend filled with some great times. Solid weather on a tough course made for some exciting races on the day!
On the men's side, they would finish with a 10th place finish which was good for the best finish in club history. That finish fulfilled the 10th place pre nationals ranking as well. Leading the way in All American fashion would once again be Jack Randall (26:23, 13th) who executed a very great race. The rest of top 5 would follow: Kyle Klingler (26:59, 43rd), Max Hoffman (27:20, 77th), Joey Stimler (27:49, 109th), and Sean Kane (28:05, 128th). This was a massive improvement to last years 25th place finish, capping off an incredible year for the men's team.
The women would post some impressive results on the day as well. After missing out on regionals, Stephanie Paul (25:38, 117th) would return as the team's top runner. The rest of the top 5 would follow: Emily Belovich (26:12, 153rd), Nicole Haffey (26:45, 183rd), Hannah Beitzinger (27:12, 218th), and Lily Deller (27:53, 240th). A solid way to end a very successful season as well.
Many impressive races were had in the B races as well, making it an all around fantastic meet for the UC Running club. This concludes a record breaking year both in times and number of competitors. The future is bright in Cincinnati!
