The UC Running Club once again traveled to Mounds State Park in Anderson, IN for the annual MC5 meet! Weather conditions looked ideal for some solid races despite racing on the tough course. The race would feature most of the Great Lakes Regional competition.
The women would start the day with a 6k, and to lead off for them would be Stephanie Paul (26:12, 11th) just shy of a medal! To follow would be: Hannah Beitzinger (29:08, 52nd), Savannah McCray (29:31, 57th), Nicole Haffey (29:37, 59th), Shawna Siefker (30:18, 70th), and Catherine Fadden (31:18, 80th). They would place 8th out of 9 teams!
The men would follow with an 8k race. This would follow the same course as the women with an extra 2k loop added on. Jack Randall (27:33, 2nd) would lead the way with an incredible runner up finish! Kyle Klingler (27:48, 6th) would also grab a top 10 spot and an award. The rest of the top 7 would follow: Sean Kane (28:47, 13th), Joey Stimler (29:47.4, 29th), Andrew Patty (29:47.6, 30th), Matt Ridinger (30:39, 44th), and Karl Mueller (30:52, 53rd). The men would place 3rd out of 9 teams.
This was probably the best performance from the UC Running Club in history for MC5. A fantastic way to start the NIRCA season!
Results Link will be added once they are on NIRCA's site.
